Takings screenshots without a specialized application is not difficult, but it can be tedious, especially if you need a large number of snapshots. SnagIMG provides a simple and comfortable solution. While working quietly in the background, the application will present a series of options on your screen, when you take a new screenshot. You can start adjusting the image right away, open it with an image processor or upload it.

You can use SnagIMG on Windows XP or any later edition. The setup file is only 343 Kb and the wizard will install the application's components in no time, without downloading any additional files from the Internet. If .NET Framework 2.0 or a later version is installed on your computer, you don't have to meet any other requirements.

SnagIMG allows you to take snapshots of the entire screen, a selected area or an active window, by using keyboard shortcuts. Once you take the snapshot, SnagIMG will display a series of options directly on the desktop. You can decide to save the screenshot or send it to the clipboard, load it on your default image processor, upload it or load it on the application's built-in viewer. The built-in viewer includes a few options for blurring user defined areas, rotating or flipping the picture and performing other basic tasks.

Screenshots can be loaded to ImageShack or Imgur. If you select the Upload option after taking a screenshot, the application will start uploading the image right away. When it completes the process, the program will provide you with links for direct access, web sites or forums. Alternatively, you can select and right click multiple images in Windows Explorer and select an option to upload them. SnagIMG will upload your images one by one and it will provide a link for each picture.

You can choose a host for your images in the application's general settings menu. You can also select a default output path and format and make other adjustments. Selecting an output path and format can be quite helpful, especially if you decide to use SnagIMG's auto-save feature. If you activate it, you only need to hit one of the keyboard shortcuts and the application will save the image instantly.

Pros

SnagIMG places various options at your disposal, when you take a screenshot. The application can open screenshots with your default image processor, copy them to the clipboard or upload them to ImageShack or Imgur. Due to its auto-save feature, you can take numerous screenshots, one after another, with a simple keyboard combination.

Cons

You can not set up your own hotkeys. Taking screenshots can be much easier and faster, thanks to SnagIMG's straightforward and easy to understand functionality.
